Announcing the Cancellation of the 73rd Annual MONGA Conference
Dear MoNGA members and friends . . . greetings!
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Missouri National Guard Association (MoNGA), I am announcing the cancellation of the 2020 MoNGA Conference that was to be held 24-25 April 2020 in Springfield, Missouri. This cancellation announcement includes the Golf Tournament that was to be held on 23 April 2020.
Much deliberation went into the decision whether to cancel or postpone the conference. With the current state of our environment, I feel that we must share in the vision of our President, Governor, and our Adjutant General to “flatten the curve” by overall reducing the spread of COVID-19. Any effort towards this goal is worthwhile and is our social responsibility. We owe these efforts to the residents of our communities, and to the health-care profession trying to keep up with the rigorous demand for quality health services.
I encourage everyone to do what they can to "flatten the curve" throughout the summer. If circumstances change and an opportunity to come together as an organization presents itself later in the year, we will keep you informed. However, it appears that the next annual conference for MoNGA will be on 16-17 April 2021 in Springfield; of course, we hope to see you there . . . and as we approach that date, more detail about the 2021 conference will be distributed.
For those that registered for the conference that was to be held next month (and which has been cancelled), reimbursement will be provided. The reimbursement will come in the form of a check to be mailed next week.
Please stay safe and I remember that I continue to appreciate all of your support for the Association.
