Dear MoNGA Members and Friends:
By now, I am sure you are aware that MoNGA’s annual conference that was to be held later this month in Springfield has been canceled. Nevertheless, there is still some critical business that must be conducted for our organization to move forward. Of upper most importance is ensuring that the organization has a Board of Directors in place in order to conduct MoNGA business. For this reason and in accordance with our bylaws, I am announcing a special conference. The special conference will be conducted virtually via audio conference starting at 4:00 pm on Thursday, 21 May 2020. An agenda for this meeting and access instructions for the teleconference will be distributed a few days prior to 21 May.
As I mentioned, the primary purpose of the meeting is to solidify the Board of Directors. Nomination timelines have passed for these positions; however, I am extending the nominations period until “close of business” on Friday, 17 April; nomination procedures remain unchanged. (Keep in mind that during “normal” annual conferences, nominations are taken from the floor. I am extending the nominations period as “nominations from the floor” is not an option this year.)
All MoNGA members are invited to call in for the 21 May meeting (participants will be limited to the first hundred individuals who call in). Let me emphasize that Senior Command representation will be most critical as this will be the key component to voting in our “new” Board of Director members. Over the next two weeks, I will be working with current Senior Command Representatives and their administrative officers to ensure each Senior Command is represented during the voting process.
At the conclusion of the special conference on 21 May, I will relinquish my role as President of MoNGA and pass the torch to Heather Javersak, MoNGA’s present President Elect. I know Heather is excited to take on her new role and move the organization farther forward.
I have truly enjoyed my time as the President of your association and look forward to accepting my new role as MoNGA’s Past President.
Of course, feel free to email or phone if you have questions or need clarity on any of the information in this message.
