Presidents Message One Goal – Success! Our most famous Missouri National Guardsman, President Harry S. Truman once said, ‘…there is not an organization that holds more meaning to me…than the Missouri National Guard Association.’ President Truman was extremely proud and committed to Our organization and so am I. We are making tremendous strides in Serving our Soldiers and Airmen and we are building a broad coalition between our state and federal legislators, our commander in chief and our membership. MoNGA is proud to support affordable Tri-Care for all military members and guaranteeing reasonable Tri-Care premiums for life. We are encouraged by the new Missouri State tax credit for military retirees. We continue to encourage congress to support the military pay increase for 2008. We continue to press congress for the reconstitution of military equipment for wartime readiness. And as always, we continually urge our elected officials concerning quality of life issues including 100% college tuition assistance. Our association is making great strides but it remains everyone’s responsibility to lead by example and encourage membership. We are most successful and relevant when we work together. This is Our organization and Its success depends on all of us! President Ronald Reagan said, “Patriotism does not run through the blood streams of Americans. It has to be nurtured and fought for…it has to passed down from generation to generation, or one day we will sit on our porch steps with our children’s children and tell them of what it was once like in America – when men were free!” Not on the watch of the Missouri National Guard Association…Always committed to One Goal – Success!
